Nature and its beauty around GRH Farm inspires our artist in residence Laura Harbinson. Laura’s love of the farm, its animals and the special natural environment that makes the Cotswolds stand out imbues her art with vivacity, colour and motion. Laura Harbinson Originals is a collection that celebrates the wonderful world we live in - so ultimately up-lifting and precious.
Born in America, Laura now lives and works in the Cotswolds; she does not foresee ever leaving this world she has come to adore. She draws much inspiration from her home ground at GRH Farm. Surrounded by the domestic animals on the farm she knows so well, Laura is also a keen observer of the wildlife that lives all around us. Birds in particular, fill her with delight and Laura can spend hours studying their flight and movement.
Much sought after by owners to document beloved pets, Laura’s recent commissions include prints of Japanese birds which now adorn the guest rooms at Residence Yasushi, a hotel in the Japanese ski resort of Nozawaonsen.
Laura’s paintings and prints of the animals she loves capture their vibrant colours and lyrical fluidity of movement. Her works are admired and treasured by all who have come to know them.
While painting is her first love, Laura does not feel limited to just paper and canvas. A boundless creativity and talent has given birth to a broad range of bespoke projects - from prints that have been used in cards, fabric and stationery designs to hand-painted furniture.
